catrin menai’s caernarfon castell
my ffrind catrin menai asked me for my voice for her work in castell 04 at caernarfon castell; i gave it to her gladly. & not just bc catrin menai is involved this year with cymru yn fenis.
earlier in the year, catrin had co-run a spineless wonders workshop with harrie fuller where we learnt how to make lonnnnng no bind pamphlets. as part of the same spineless wonders series eluned gramich had run a writing workshop moving about aberystwyth, giving out poetry examples of zoë skoulding’s ‘gull song’. WHEN WE WERE OUT WALKING / WRITING I SAW A BEAUTIFUL WHITE DOVE DEAD ON THE FLOOR OF THE OLD CASTELL RUINS IN ABERYSTWYTH, & THEN WROTE A DOVE SONG FOR IT. IF YOU WANT YOU CAN SAVE & DOWNLOAD THE FOLLOWING IMAGE AND CUT IT INTO YOUR OWN COPY! (cut along the blue lines & fold into a concertina, basically):

i’D GIVEN A COPY SPECIALLY MADE TO CATRIN WHO SAID SHE HAPPENED TO BE MAKING A SOWND INSTALLATION AT CARNARFON CASTELL ABOUT BIRDS, & COULD i read or hum et cetera in relation to ‘dove song’ perhaps so that is what i did & enjoyed it so much. read about catrin’s work here, & here are some visual fragments relaying some of it incl. talk of saint beuno & queen curlew:
